About TB-500
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4, built on the 16-amino-acid sequence LKKTETQEKQAGDAGE. This fragment retains the key actin-sequestering motif of the parent protein, making it a convenient probe for cytoskeletal research. Investigators study it in assays of actin polymerization, endothelial and fibroblast migration, angiogenesis-related cell behavior, and wound-closure models, where actin remodeling is a central readout. Because the peptide is short and rich in charged and polar residues, its biological activity is sensitive to oxidation, aggregation, and salt-form variability; low-purity material may contain deletion peptides that bind actin weakly or produce inconsistent dose-response curves. Shandong Shengyuan mitigates this with strict lyophilization controls, RP-HPLC purity testing to 99.3% or higher, accurate peptide-content and trifluoroacetate quantification, and LC-MS mass confirmation for every production lot. The product is provided as lyophilized powder for research use only and is not for human or veterinary application.
